Freedom to Vote Act

Our political system isn’t working for the American people. The Freedom to Vote Act will put us back on the right track with the largest set of democracy reforms in decades - it would reduce the influence of money in politics, crack down on corruption, ensure accurate elections, and protect voting rights by banning partisan gerrymandering in federal elections.

“The Freedom to Vote Act introduced in the Senate would strengthen our democracy by making it easier for people to vote and harder for politicians and special interests to drown out the voices of ordinary Americans. I support it, and every Senator should do the same.”

President Barack Obama

Take Action:

The Freedom to Vote Act, introduced by Senate Democrats on September 14, would reinforce the cornerstone of our democracy — voting — by enabling vote by mail and early voting in every state, modernizing voter registration including implementing automatic registration and online registration, restoring federal voting rights for people who have completed a prison sentence, preventing election subversion while promoting election security, and outlawing partisan gerrymandering. “America is facing a moment of decision. … The Freedom to Vote Act is the best chance we have to stop this attack on American democracy – by banning partisan gerrymandering, protecting the right to vote, and returning power back to the people—where it belongs.”
