AOTL Submits Petition Urging Arizona’s IRC to Reject Timmons Group + NDC as Mapping Consultants to Commission
IRC Must Live Up to its Standards of Serving as an Independent Commission and Act in the Best Interests of All Arizonans
Today, All On The Line (AOTL) submitted a petition to the Arizona Independent Redistricting Committee (IRC), signed by over 1,000 Arizonans, urging them to reject Timmons Group + National Demographic Corporation (NDC) as the mapping consultants who will draw the states electoral district boundaries. The NDC has been involved with maps that do not follow mandated mapping criteria, undermined representation of Latinos and communities of color, and defended maps that were rejected or redone due to litigation in courts across the nation.
“This week over 1,000 Arizonans from 13 of Arizona's 15 counties signed our petition calling on the IRC to uphold its reputation as a fair and independent body by not hiring Timmons Group + NDC as its mapping consultant. Arizonans cannot trust NDC to be in a position of drafting maps that could potentially undermine representation," said Kendra Alvarez, Arizona All On The Line State Director.
“To continue living up to its promise of redistricting reform, the IRC must hire a mapping firm that is impartial and fair. It’s evident that Timmons Group + NDC is not the right choice. AOTL will continue working to ensure that this process is transparent and results in equitable maps that fairly represent voters in every corner of the state,” continued Alvarez.

All On The Line
All On The Line is on a mission to end gerrymandering because it contributes to the polarization and dysfunction in our political system. Since launching in 2019, we’ve built a grassroots volunteer organization ahead of the 2021 redistricting process. This work includes launching Redistricting U, a national, in-person training program designed to give individuals the knowledge, skills, and tools to take action on redistricting, a program that is now offered virtually. All On The Line is the grassroots campaign of the National Redistricting Action Fund, a 501(c)(4) affiliate of the National Democratic Redistricting Committee.
