Today, Marco Dorado, All On The Line Colorado State Director, issued the below statement following the Colorado Independent Legislative Redistricting Commission’s votes on its 2021 legislative maps:

“The legislative maps approved for submission to the Colorado Supreme Court this week mark an important step in Colorado’s redistricting process. The Commission has engaged in numerous months of input and commissioner deliberation, further confirming that the independent commission process approved by Colorado voters in 2018 works.

“The approved Senate map is a product of public comment, testimony, and compromise by commissioners. Similarly, the approved House map strongly reflects public input about the state’s communities of interest, specifically from Latino communities in the Denver Metropolitan area, San Luis Valley, and Roaring Fork Valley. It’s now up to the Colorado Supreme Court to deliberate on the merits of the approved legislative maps.”
