All On The Line Colorado to join Participant’s campaign for Slay The Dragon Virtual Screening and Panel Discussion
This week, All On The Line Colorado is joining Participant to virtually screen the film Slay The Dragon from May 22 - 28. On Thursday, May 28, All On The Line will host a live panel discussion with panelists including the producers of Slay The Dragon and Dusti Gurule, Executive Director of COLOR Action Fund. The discussion will cover the film, but also a larger conversation on the on-going fight for fair maps in Colorado.
All on the Line Colorado is partnering with Participant, the leading media company dedicated to entertainment that inspires audiences to engage in positive social change, as part of the Slay the Dragon campaign. The campaign is raising awareness around gerrymandering and catalyzing all citizens to participate in a fair and equitable electoral system.
Slay The Dragon, which is available to stream VOD and across digital platforms, shows viewers how politicians have used gerrymandered maps to unfairly hold on to power by silencing the voice of the voter. In March, Eric H. Holder, Jr., the 82nd Attorney General of the United States, wrote a column for The Hollywood Reporter where he says, “Slay the Dragon tells the story of how a group of politicians, backed by special interests, executed a plan to win critical down-ballot elections in 2010 and then used that power to manipulate the maps for their own benefit. As the movie makes clear, when politicians gerrymander the result is not just skewed elections results — it shows up in the policies enacted or blocked and in the hyper partisanship that frustrates so many Americans right now.”

Since its launch more than one year ago, All On The Line has been hard at work building a grassroots volunteer organization ahead of the 2021 redistricting process. All On The Line Colorado’s mission is to raise awareness about the harmful impact gerrymandering has on federal and state policymaking, encourage participation in opportunities that defend democratic ideals, and increase grassroots engagement in every step of the redistricting process.
