All On The Line Ohio Signs Letter Calling on Ohio State Legislature to Enact Voting Reforms
Today, All On The Line Ohio signed onto a letter released by the Ohio Voter Rights Coalition calling on state legislators to enact common-sense voting reforms that will make it easier for Ohioans to cast a ballot. All On The Line Ohio State Director Katy Shanahan said:
“Though Ohio’s primary voting process has been complicated by far too many unnecessary obstacles that stand in the way of casting a ballot, our elected officials now have the opportunity to learn important lessons and translate them into thoughtful policy changes. Over the past few weeks, we’ve learned exactly where the faults lie in our system and now our leaders are responsible for implementing the right fixes.
“In the midst of a public health crisis, we need to act with a sense of urgency to ensure that we do not repeat the same mistakes in November’s election. No Ohio voter should be forced to choose between protecting their health and exercising their right to vote. We look forward to working with legislative leaders to find common sense solutions that protect Ohioans’ right to safely cast their ballots.”
Since its launch more than one year ago, All On The Line has been hard at work building a grassroots volunteer organization ahead of the 2021 redistricting process. All On The Line Ohio’s mission is to raise awareness about the harmful impact gerrymandering has on federal and state policymaking, encourages participation in opportunities that defend democratic ideals, and increases grassroots engagement in every step of the redistricting process.
